It enchances environment and adds more atmosphere in to game.HL1 plays like a Quake inspired shooter. Meanwhile HL2 is slower paced and narrative driven. Even the levels and aesthetic of the games are different. HL1 is this science facility that's a maze of twists and turns. HL2 is this post-apoc world that has you driving vehicles and exploring the ruins of humanity. Half-Life 2's soundtrack isn't afraid to make itself known. In addition, it's not afraid to make itself scarce. Valve is content to let long stretches of the game go without an accompanying track. Graphics - The graphics were very very good and ran well on a wide variety of systems at release. Atmosphere - The look of a post alien invasion Eastern Europe looked hauntingly believable. The art style drew upon classic sci-fi staples (Tripod Stalkers, Zombies, etc.) and made them each unique.
The graphics:Half little 2 is a game that come out in year 2004.And to no one's surprise,it stills holds up to this day.If you are using today's standard,it may look a little bit weird,but the model,the character,the environment and the weapons still look pretty good.It is also full of details,the splash effects of the water,the seagulls poop
Half-Life 2 (and the episodes) are a zombie game, a urban combat game, a driving combat game, a puzzle game, and more. Many elements are reused (Nova Prospekt's turret standoffs, or gunship battles), but they're usually either damn fun or damn exciting or damn thrilling.
Half-Life 2 will likely load slightly faster, but since levels will be contained in one big compressed file, this probably won't help HL2 performance much. Still, it's good for your overall system
